About us

Rural Tribal Development Society, is a charitable trust founded in the year 1980 with the objective of providing care and succor to the old. Rural Tribal Development Society provides residential care with full boarding & lodging facility to the old with medical care nursing care to the old, belonging mostly to poor & middle class individuals (above 60 years of age) of all denominations. At Rural Tribal Development Society Old Age Homes we have above 75 old, neglected souls being cared for.

The Trust has already traveled a long way and addressed the needs of infinite number of parents. The travel has been days of struggle and considerable odds to keep the fledgling institution afloat. The challenges remained the strength of the Trust to continue to do this good work through the benevolence.

Rural Tribal Development Society, visualizes a society where all human beings live with dignity. Rural Tribal Development Society believes that every human being has inalienable rights, guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the International Covenants. Rural Tribal Development Society envisions itself as a peoples’ initiative for protection of basic and inalienable human rights with specific emphasis on – women, children, the elderly, the challenged and the poor and the needy.

MISSION:

Rural Tribal Development Society, works with people whose lives are plagued by poverty, illiteracy, ill-health and many social, economic and cultural issues. Rural Tribal Development Society is committed to making its various initiatives socially, financially and environmentally sustainable through good governance and peoples’ participation.

Rural Tribal Development Society, encourages a social work culture where all the concerned work in partnership with the community, like-minded civil society organizations, government institutions and private sector.

Rural Tribal Development Society has been engaged in efforts in shaping the organization as a resource and nodal agency so as to establish connecting links among various stakeholders, such as – CSOs, Government, CBOs and Donors. Needless to state, lobbying and advocacy are the golden threads that run through its efforts in this direction.

*Organization of people – promoting community based organizations

*Capacity building to empower people, particularly women, children and the vulnerable sections, to protect their legitimate rights

*Mobilizing peoples’ power and to initiate action against poverty through peoples’ participation and governance

*Networking with individuals, organizations and institutions at the local, regional, national and international levels to promote human development with equity

*Economic empowerment of poor families through collective action

*Acting as a link between the Governmental and the people

*Promoting the value of sustainable development, environment friendly living conditions by preservation of natural resources and safe environment

*Functioning as a resource centre and nodal agency for NGOs, CBOs and Pls Working for the protection of the rights based on human dignity, freedom and security of people with disabilities – the mentally retarded the physically handicapped, the HIV /AIDS affected, the destitute and the deserted

*Advocacy, lobbying through IEC.

Background of the Organization :

          RURAL TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY is a Voluntary Organization Regd. Under society Registration, Act XXI of 1860 with Regd. No. 122/1980, Dt.01.08.1980.   Since then the organization is actively participating in eco-development, health, education, child welfare and women development programs.   The Organization is established with a Motive of community service.   It was established with like minded sincerely committed social workers.  The board of members of the organization are well experienced and dedicated to social services.  The organization also received merit and commendation certificates from the Collectors of Anantapur and Kurnool Districts of the eve of Republic Day celebrations for the services rendered to the poor.
